Softie is designed to help you manage your beauty routines, product shelf, reminders, progress, cycle-related beauty insights, and community experience. This Privacy Policy explains what information Softie may collect, how it is used, and how you can control it.
1. Information You Provide
Softie may store information you choose to enter, such as:
- name or display name
- profile photo
- beauty profile details
- hair type, hair thickness, hair concerns, and notes
- skin type, skin goals, skin concerns, and notes
- routine preferences
- product names, brands, photos, barcodes, and notes
- category and subcategory data
- routine completions and progress
- period and cycle logs if you use those features
- community posts, replies, and reactions
- reminder and notification preferences
2. Photos
Softie may allow you to add profile photos, product photos, progress photos, and community images.
Photos may be stored locally on your device and may be synced through Apple iCloud/CloudKit if cloud sync is enabled.
3. iCloud and CloudKit
Softie may use Apple iCloud/CloudKit to sync your data across your Apple devices and to support community features.
Personal data such as routines, products, period logs, progress information, and profile settings should be stored in your private iCloud database where applicable.
Community content, such as public posts and replies, may be stored in the public CloudKit database so other users can view and interact with it.
CloudKit data is handled through Apple’s iCloud infrastructure and may require you to be signed in to iCloud on your device.
4. Sign in with Apple
Softie may use Sign in with Apple to identify your account. Apple may provide your name and email during the first sign-in, depending on your Apple settings.
Softie does not receive your Apple ID password.
5. Location Data
Softie may request location permission to show local weather, UV index, and protection guidance.
Location data may be used to:
- display local temperature
- display UV index
- show city or location name
- personalize sun protection reminders
Softie should not use your location for advertising tracking.
You can disable location access in iOS Settings at any time.
6. Notifications
Softie may request notification permission to send:
- routine reminders
- subcategory reminders
- appointment reminders
- SPF reminders
- period or cycle reminders
- timer alerts
You can disable notifications in iOS Settings or within the app settings where available.
7. Community Content
If you use Glow Community, content you post may be visible to other users. This may include:
- display name or profile initial
- profile photo if used
- post title and body
- replies
- reactions
- timestamps
Do not post private or sensitive information that you do not want others to see.
8. Subscription Information
Softie may use Apple StoreKit to check subscription status and unlock premium features.
Purchases are processed by Apple. Softie does not receive your full payment card details.
9. Barcode and Product Lookup
If you scan a product barcode, Softie may use the barcode to search product databases or services in order to identify product information. Results may be cached locally to improve performance.
10. How Information Is Used
Softie may use information to:
- personalize your routine experience
- save and sync your data
- show your product shelf
- track progress and completions
- generate beauty and cycle-related insights
- send reminders
- support widgets
- display community posts and replies
- improve app reliability and user experience
11. Data Storage
Data may be stored:
- locally on your device
- in iCloud/CloudKit if enabled
- in App Group storage for widgets
- in Apple subscription systems for purchase status
12. Data Sharing
Softie does not sell your personal data.
Softie may share limited data only when needed to:
- operate iCloud/CloudKit features
- process App Store subscriptions through Apple
- display community content you choose to post
- comply with legal requirements
- protect users and prevent abuse
13. Health and Sensitive Information
Softie may allow you to enter personal beauty, cycle, and wellness-related information. This information is used to provide app features and should be handled carefully.
Softie is not a medical service and does not provide medical diagnosis or treatment.
14. Your Choices
You can:
- edit your profile
- remove photos
- delete or edit content where supported
- disable notifications
- disable location access
- stop using community features
- sign out where supported
- request or initiate account deletion where supported
15. Account Deletion
If Softie supports account creation or sign-in, the app allows users to initiate account deletion from inside the app.
Deleting your account may remove account-related data and cloud-synced personal data where technically possible, except where retention is required for legal, security, or operational reasons.
16. Children
Softie is not intended for children under the age required by applicable law to use apps with account, community, or personal tracking features without appropriate consent.
17. Security
Softie uses Apple platform features and iCloud/CloudKit where applicable to help protect data. However, no system is guaranteed to be completely secure.
18. Changes to This Policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated over time. The updated date will be changed when updates are made.
